Blotter 10/14 – 10/15

Sunday

At 2 a.m., officers were sent to the east side of the Human Resources Building in regard to a report of criminal damage to property. Officers arrived on the scene and investigated. The case is open pending further investigation.

At 2:20 a.m., officers on patrol at Lot L made contact with a person who was under the age of 21 and intoxicated. The person was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.

At 4:45 a.m., an officer on patrol at the west side of the New Residence Hall Complex responded to the fourth floor in regard to a report of criminal damage to property. The officer met with a person at the scene. The person was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for criminal damage to property.

At 9:01 p.m., an officer was sent to Neptune Hall East in regard to a report of domestic battery. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. The officers later met with the offender, Myles J. Webb, 19, of Chicago. Webb was arrested for domestic battery and sent to the DeKalb County jail.

At 10:31 p.m., an officer was sent to Stevenson Towers North in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. The case is open pending further investigation.

Monday

At 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 4, an officer was sent to the NIU Police Department lobby in regard to a report of unlawful use of a credit card. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. On Monday, this case was administratively closed due to a lack of leads.

At 9:50 a.m., an officer was sent to the NIU Police Department in regard to a report of credit card fraud. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.

At 2 p.m., officers on patrol outside of Still Gym met with a person who had an active warrant for fleeing and attempting to elude a police officer. Luis Garcia, 22, of Chicago, was arrested and processed at the NIU Police Department. He was sent to the DeKalb County Jail.
