A talk on issues facing Latina women will be hosted by the Women’s Law Caucus and Latino/a Law Students Association, said Helen Mellas, 1L representative to Women’s Law Caucus, in an email.

The talk will be held at 6 p.m. Nov. 12 at Swen Parson Hall’s Riley Courtroom. Law professor Elvia Arriola will speak about the Women on the Border program, Mellas said. The program presents a good opportunity for people interested to be a part of the program, Mellas said. Anita Maddali, director of clinics and assistant professor, will speak about the issues Latina women face in the U.S.

A reception will be held after the talk in the Marshall Gallery in Swen Parson Hall. The event is open to everyone at NIU. Mellas said people who attend should bring identification.
