Wednesday
At 10:56 p.m. on October 2, an officer was sent to the Campus Recreation Center in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. On Wednesday, this case was administratively closed due to a lack of leads.
Thursday
At 1:35 a.m., an officer on patrol outside of Grant North Towers saw a person who was under 21 and intoxicated. The officer met with the person and the meeting resulted in the person being referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.
At 7:44 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at Stadium Drive East and Lincoln Drive North. The officer discovered cannabis in the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for possession of cannabis.
At 9:34 p.m., an officer was sent to the Holmes Student Center in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with complainant and took a report. The case was administratively closed due to a lack of leads.
At 9:35 p.m., officers went to Grant North Towers in regard to a report of cannabis. The officers met with the people in the room in question. One person was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for possession of cannabis. The other person, Nicholas C. Gonzalez, 18, of Chicago, was arrested for possession of cannabis and possession of cannabis with intent to deliver. Gonzalez was processed at the NIU Police Department and released on a $150 bond.
At 11:49 p.m., an officer on patrol at the 900 block of Ridge Drive saw a person under the age of 21 and in possession of alcohol. The officer met with the person and the meeting resulted in the person being referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.
