Planning for NIU Cares Day 2013 to begin soon
October 29, 2012
Planning and recruitment for NIU Cares Day 2013 will happen soon, according to a Student Involvement and Leadership Development (SILD) press release.
NIU Cares Day 2013 is scheduled for April 20, 2013 but SILD wants to put together a committee for planning and recruiting helpers for the event, according to SILD. The NIU Cares Day kickoff and preview meeting is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Nov. 6 in the Campus Life Building, Room 100.
Destiny McDonald, acting assistant director of community service, will share the details of the NIU Cares Day event at the meeting, according to SILD. A brief history of the event as well as changes that will be made next year will also be included in the meeting.
Some of the opportunities for faculty and staff wanting to get involved include serving on the planning committee to volunteering work, according to SILD. Those who volunteer may clean out a garage to find items for the NIU Cares Day wish list.
According to SILD, the four sub-committees involved in the event include community outreach, campus recruitment, logistics and fundraising.
Faculty and staff who wish to participate in the planning process but cannot make the meeting are encouraged to contact McDonald at [email protected] by Nov. 30.
