New bundle offers Doom game classics

As Halloween gets closer, TV channels are showing marathons of popular scary movies like Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street. While the movies are great and scary, they can’t provide a frightening experience like a video game can.
Survivor horror games like Dead Space are popular because they engulf the player into an experience where monsters pop out of nowhere and resources for protection are limited.
Games like these were inspired by the one of id Software’s popular franchises, Doom.
Because the games were released for PC and older consoles, it is difficult to play the Doom series in its entirety. But if you’re one of those people who wants to play the series from the beginning, you’re in luck.
Id Software re-released Doom on Tuesday, just in time for Halloween. The Doom 3 BFG Edition is going to take you back to hell and give you one of the most eerie and frightening gaming experiences you will ever have.
The Doom 3 BFG Edition is an ultimate bundle of the Doom franchise. In the bundle, you get Doom, Doom 2 and the re-mastered HD version of Doom 3. Also included are the add-on pack Resurrection of Evil that was released for Doom 3 and a brand new chapter called The Lost Mission.
If you are a fan of the series, this is a must-buy. Not only do you get all three games, but also a new chapter. Some other games that have been re-mastered only offer an enhanced visual presentation. This bundle actually offers new content.
If you have never played Doom, this is the perfect opportunity to play a really great game. Plus, it fits perfectly with the Halloween theme.
If price is an issue for you, don’t worry. According to GameStop’s website, this bundle is only $39.99 for XBox 360 and PlayStation 3, or $29.99 for PC, and it contains more content than some of the $60 dollar games on the market right now.
Overall, this is the perfect package for the fans of the series and gamers in general.
4/5 Stars.
