Guest professor to discuss election Thursday as part of Presidential Speaker Series

The next entry in NIU’s 2012 Presidential Speaker Series will begin Thursday.

Emory University’s Alan Abramowitz will give a presentation titled Predicting the 2012 President Election at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Holmes Student Center’s Sky Room.

According to NIU Today, Abramowitz is an expert on national politics, polling and elections. He specializes in forecasting models, party realignment in the U.S., congressional elections and the effects of political campaigns on the electorate. Abramowitz is the Alben W. Barkley Professor of Political Science at Emory University. His work has been cited in the Washington Post, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and other national publications, according to NIU Today.
