Stephen, Paschke win Scholar-Athlete of the Week

Courtney Stephen of football and Emily Paschke of volleyball are this week’s winners of NIU Scholar-Athlete of the Week.
Stephen, a red shirt senior safety, played on both defense and special teams in the Huskies’ 45-3 victory against Buffalo Saturday.
He recorded three solo tackles on the day and helped the Huskies hold the Bulls to their lowest point total of the season.
This was the first game since Nov. 26, 2010 the Huskies did not allow a touchdown.
While majoring in psychology, Stephen manages to maintain a 3.773 GPA.
Paschke, the sophomore outside hitter, played a huge role in the Huskies going 2-0 over their Homecoming weekend. She led NIU with 10 blocks and held opponents to a .122 attack percentage.
In Friday’s game against Buffalo, Paschke recorded a career high four blocks while holding the Bulls to a .082 hitting percentage.
Against Akron Saturday, she recorded another career night with six blocks, holding the Zips to a .143 attack percentage.
Paschke has a 3.9 GPA while she majors in accounting.
