Blotter 10/25 – 10/26

Thursday

At 12:53 a.m., an officer responded to the 700 block of North Annie Glidden Road in regard to a report of a sick person. After arriving on the scene, the officer met Jimmy W. Gibson, 36, of Chicago, who had an active warrant for his arrest. Gibson was arrested for failure to appear in court for a traffic offense. Gibson was processed at the NIU Police Department and sent to the DeKalb County jail.

At 2:46 a.m., officers responded to Neptune Hall West in regard to a report of a possible altercation. Officers arrived on the scene and investigated. One person was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor.

At 9:10 a.m., an officer was sent to the NIU Police Department in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. The case was administratively closed due to a lack of leads.

At 11:09 p.m., officers on patrol of the 900 block of Greenbrier Road saw a person who was under 21 and in possession of alcohol. Officers met with the person and the meeting resulted in the person being referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor.

Friday

At 1:46 a.m., a person was found to have unlawfully consumed alcohol at Grant Towers North. The person was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct.

At 7:22 a.m., an officer was sent to the Holmes Student Center in regard to a report of criminal damage. A report was taken. This case is closed pending the discovery of new information.

At 4:53 p.m., officers were sent to the New Residence Hall Community Center for a report of battery. A report was taken. This case is closed because of refusal to cooperate.
