Friday
At 10 a.m. on Oct. 9, an officer was sent to the NIU Police Department lobby in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is closed pending the discovery of new information.
At 12:16 a.m., an officer saw a person who was under 21 and consuming alcohol at 900 Greenbrier Road. The person was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.
At 12:35 a.m., officers encountered Michael D. Gallegos, 21, of DeKalb, at Third Street and Lincoln Highway. The officers knew Gallegos as someone wanted for failure to appear in court. Gallegos was placed under arrest and sent to the DeKalb County jail.
At 2:24 a.m., an officer encountered a person who had unlawfully consumed alcohol at the Neptune North lobby. The person was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.
At 4:05 a.m., an officer encountered three people in a vehicle who had unlawfully consumed alcohol and were in possession of drug paraphernalia in Lot X. All three people were given a verbal warning for unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor. One person was given a verbal warning for possession of drug paraphernalia.
At 8:03 p.m., an officer was sent to the Campus Recreation Center in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is closed pending the discovery of new information.
At 10:21 p.m., an officer encountered a person in a vehicle who was in possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia at the bus turnaround. The person was given a verbal warning for unlawful possession of cannabis and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Saturday
At 1:22 a.m., officers encountered Andre A. Harris, 19, of Chicago, at the Campus Recreation Center. Harris was known to them as someone banned from the NIU campus. Harris was placed under arrest and sent to the DeKalb County jail.
At 2:55 a.m., officers encountered Dominique D. Jackson, 22, of Chicago, at the Campus Recreation Center. The officers determined Jackson was wanted for failure to appear in court. Jackson was placed under arrest and sent to the DeKalb County jail.
At 4 a.m., an officer encountered a person in a vehicle who was in possession of cannabis in Lot X. The person was given a verbal warning for unlawful possession of cannabis.
At 1:59 p.m., an officer was sent to Lot 31 in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is closed pending the discovery of new information.
At 2:36 p.m., an officer was sent to Huskie Stadium in regard to a report of criminal damage. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is closed pending the discovery of new information.
At 5:28 p.m., an officer was sent to the west side of the New Residence Hall Complex in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.
