Aug. 20, 2012

• At 9:45 p.m., an officer on routine patrol at the intersection of Greenbrier Road and Hillcrest Drive met a person who was determined to be under 21 and in possession of an alcoholic beverage. The person was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.

 

Aug. 21, 2012

• At 12:15 a.m., officers on foot patrol near 1020 W. Hillcrest Road met four people who appeared to be under 21 and in possession of alcohol. Kevin D. Fragakis, 20, of Kildeer, was arrested and charged with obstructing a police officer and referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student conduct for unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor. Fragakis posted a $150 bond and was released. Christopher J. Davies, 24, of Rochelle, was arrested on a warrant for failure to register as a sex offender. Davies was transported to the DeKalb County jail. Two other people were released.

• At 4:51 a.m., an officer responded to Altgeld Hall for a report of criminal damage. After investigating the scene it was determined the case was unfounded.

• At 6:40 p.m., an officer met with a person at the NIU police department regarding a report of a lost wallet. The case is open pending further investigation.

 

Aug. 22, 2012

• At 11:48 p.m., an officer responded to Cole Hall for a report of criminal damage. The officer went to the scene and started an investigation. This case is open pending further investigation.

 

Aug. 23, 2012

• At 9:45 p.m., officers on patrol were notified of a person with an active arrest warrant and located him. Davante L. Robinson, 25, was found to be in violation of an order of protection and arrested for failure to appear for domestic battery and an order of protection violation. Robinson was processed at the NIU police department and transported to the DeKalb County jail.

 

Aug. 24, 2012

• At 1:54 p.m., officers on patrol saw a person push over a motorcycle parked in Lot W. Officers stopped the person responsible and discovered he was intoxicated and in possession of alcohol while under 21. The person was sent through the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for underage possession and consumption.

• At 7:53 p.m., officers were called to Douglas Hall to investigate an odor coming from a residence hall room. Officers met with the occupants of the room and after a brief investigation they determined the occupants had smoked cannabis. The occupants were sent to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for the incident.

• At 10:16 p.m., officers on patrol near the MLK Commons area encountered two people who seemed intoxicated. After a brief investigation it was determined they consumed alcohol and were under 21. They were sent to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct.

 

Aug. 25, 2012

• At 12:46 a.m., officers saw two people sitting in a car talking at the Pay Lot on 201 Carroll Ave. Officers met with them and discovered one of the occupants was Deshawn R. Clifton, 22, of Chicago, who was banned from all university property. Clifton was arrested for criminal trespass and sent to the NIU police station. He was processed and then released on a $150 bond.

• At 4:14 a.m., officers were called to the new residence hall complex regarding an accusation of stolen items from a person’s room. Jalen M. Dent, 19, of Aurora, and Anthony R. Franklin, 19, of Naperville, were arrested and charged with residential burglary and felony theft after an investigation. They were taken to the NIU police station for processing and sent to the DeKalb County jail to await bond hearings. The missing property was collected and logged into evidence.
