The Rant: It’s all about the Bubba

By Sean Anderson

Rory McIlroy, Anthony Kim, Rickie Fowler and all the other 30 PGA golfers have nothing on Bubba Watson.

Watson is the most consistent golfer this year; he’s made every cut this year and has not placed worst than 18th. He won the first major of the year, the Masters, with one of the most amazing shots you will ever see in a time when he needed it the most.

Even though Watson isn’t ranked No. 1 in FedExCup points, he is ranked second only behind Hunter Mahan, who won two tournaments. Watson is ranked fourth in the world golf rankings, so don’t be surprised if you see him as No. 1 before the season ends.

Watson is one of the most unique golfers out there today; all you have to see is his pink driver and you’ll be in for one heck of a show. He shapes the ball like no one else can. With the balls they use today, it’s an accomplishment on its own.

To me, Watson is the favorite to win the FedExCup points and the rest of the majors for the year. He might not be in first for the first two or three rounds, but he always climbs the leader board when it counts.

Forget about Tiger Woods and whether or not he’ll regain his swing; for now, it’s all about Bubba.
