May 1, 2012
Almost 2,000 packages of synthetic drugs were seized from DeKalb retailers Monday as part of “Operation Smoked Out.”
The operation is a statewide initiative that aims to remove certain illegal substances from Illinois stores, according to an Illinois Attorney General’s Office press release.
According to the press release, illegal substances were found and relinquished at Roxxi’s, 143 S. 2nd St., and at Shadowlands, 1027 W. Hillcrest Dr.
Investigators from the attorney general’s office worked with DeKalb Police and DeKalb County Sheriff’s officers to search the inventory at several DeKalb locations.
Three other retailers were searched and signed agreements not to sell similar products.
