Friday
At 12:58 p.m., officers responded to Lincoln Hall D Wing regarding a theft report. They met with a woman who said someone stole her wallet and made unauthorized charges on her debit card. This case is pending investigation.
At 1:30 p.m., officers responded to the Lincoln Hall Service Drive regarding a report of criminal damage to property. They met with a woman who said someone keyed her vehicle. This case is pending investigation.
At 8:35 p.m., an officer responded to a report of theft of mislaid property at Founders Memorial Library. The officer met with a woman who said someone stole her iPhone from the third floor of the library. This case is administratively closed.
At 11:34 p.m., an officer responded to Lincoln Hall lobby regarding a person attempting to be signed in with a fraudulent ID. The officer met with the person, who admitted the ID was fraudulent. Officers confiscated the ID and denied the offender entrance into Lincoln Hall.
Saturday
At 1:17 a.m., officers responded to the Stevenson North lobby concerning an intoxicated person. The officers checked on the person and gave her a verbal warning for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.
At 1:40 a.m., officers responded to the Convocation Center concerning an intoxicated man. The officers concluded he was OK and removed him from the center. He was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.
At 2:09 a.m., Dominque Keith, 19, of Bellwood, Ill., was charged with criminal trespass to real property for returning to the Convocation Center after he was removed from the center by an officer. He was processed at the NIU Police Department and released on individual bond.
At 2:16 a.m., an officer responded to the Stevenson North lobby regarding a residential burglary. The officer met with the man, who said his laptop and iPod were stolen from his unlocked room. This case is pending investigation.
At 2:24 a.m., an officer observed a person lying on the ground outside of Neptune Hall North. The person was sent to Kishwaukee Community Hospital for further evaluation. The person was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.
At 2:27 a.m., an officer observed a person holding a water bottle at the NIU Convocation Center. The officer checked the water bottle and confirmed it contained alcoholic liquid. The person was removed from the center and referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.
At 2:40 a.m., officers responded to the Stevenson North lobby concerning an intoxicated person. After the officers checked the person, he was sent to the Kishwaukee Community Hospital for further evaluation.
At 2:49 a.m., Christopher M. Young, 23, of Chicago, was arrested and charged with resisting a peace officer at Lucinda Avenue and Garden Road. After officers met with Young for several traffic infractions he left his vehicle, pushed an officer and refused to comply with instructions. He was processed at the NIU Police Department and sent to DeKalb County jail.
At 3:05 a.m., Brittany Hall, 20, of Chicago, was arrested and charged with domestic battery after officers observed her striking her boyfriend in the face at Lot C2. She was processed at the NIU Police Department and sent to DeKalb County jail.
At 3:18 a.m., an officer in the Grant Towers North lobby observed two people carrying a person in need of medical attention into the lobby. The person was sent to Kishwaukee Community Hospital for further evaluation. The person was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.
At 3:57 a.m., an officer accepted a report of a stolen iPhone at the NIU Convocation Center. This case is pending investigation.
At 4:16 a.m., an unidentified person turned in a wallet at the Convocation Center. The owner of the wallet revealed money was taken from the wallet. This case is administratively closed pending new leads.
Sunday
At 3:03 a.m., Carlton B I. Simmons, 19, of Springfield, Ill., was arrested on a warrant outside DeKalb County for failure to appear in court after an officer encountered him at Douglas Hall. He was processed at the NIU Police Department and released after posting bond.
