Car hits motorized scooter
April 12, 2012
An accident between a car and scooter occurred around 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Newman Road and Garden Road.
A blue Taurus rear-ended a scooter at the Newman Road stop sign, said DeKalb Police Officer Jared Burke.
The scooter stopped at the stop sign, then was struck from behind.
“I stopped, and not even a second later heard brakes screech,” said Thomas Klahn, sophomore manufacturing engineering technology major. “Then I was on the ground, and my scooter was knocked across the street.”
The accident resulted in no injures.
“I’m not hurt,” Klahn said. “There’s no scrapes. I’m just going to go on with my day.”
The driver of the Taurus declined to comment.
