After going 2-0, and recording a save over the weekend, NIU softball pitcher Megan Dortch was named MAC West Pitcher of the Week, according to a press release.

The right handed freshman threw a complete game shutout versus Eastern Michigan, striking out six and allowing two hits to help the Huskies earn a 4-0 win. Following her performance against the Eagles, Dortch pitched six-and-a-third innings while striking out seven, allowing one earned run versus Central Michigan.

The Reno, Nev., native earned the weekly award for the second time this season.
