NIU’s College of Law will host the 19th annual Francis X. Riley Lecture on Professionalism at 3 p.m. Friday at the Francis X. Riley Courtroom in Swen Parson Hall.

Lawrence J. Fox, partner of Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP and Crawford Lecturer at Yale Law School, will present “Can This Profession Be Saved.”

A reception and auction will follow the presentation from 5 to 9 p.m. at Thurgood Marshall Gallery in Swen Parson Hall. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres begin at 5 p.m.; the live auction begins at 7 p.m. Proceeds will fund assistantships for students who accept volunteer public interest positions for summer 2012.
