Stage Coach Players to hold auditions

By Katie Finlon

Stage Coach Players will be holding auditions for the summer 2012 performance season from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 511 Russell Road.

The shows for the season are Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare, Forbidden Broadway by Gerald Alessandrini, Private Eyes by Steven Dietz, Guys and Dolls by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows, The Dining Room by A.R. Gurney and Not Now Darling by Ray Cooney and John Chapman.

Guys and Dolls will take a dual cast – both a youth cast and an adult cast. The youth cast minimum age is 10-11 years old or fifth-grade age.

Anyone can audition for any number of plays or musicals. There are separate auditions for every show, a total of six auditions. Plan to come early due to the strict time limit.

No prepared monologue is necessary – cold reading materials will be provided.

You must have at least 16 measures of a song prepared to audition for a musical, preferably a song from a musical that reflects your vocal range, said Jennifer Snow, Stage Coach Players volunteer.

If you have any questions about the auditions or would like to buy tickets for upcoming shows, contact Stage Coach Players at 815-758-1940 or visit their website at www.stagecoachers.com.
