DeKalb County Sheriff Roger Scott will award one $500 scholarship for the 2012-2013 academic year.

According to a press release, the scholarship will be given on behalf of the Illinois Sheriff’s Association, who will award 105 scholarships throughout the state.

Applicants must be permanent DeKalb County residents and be a full time student during the 2012-2013 school year and money awarded must be used for tuition, books and fees. The release states the winner will be selected by a committee comprised of citizens and education professionals.

Applications are available at the Sheriff’s office in the Public Safety Building, 150 N. Main St. in Sycamore, or online at www.ilsheriff.org or www.dekalbcountyilsheriff.org. Applications are due to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s office by March 12.
