The Rant- Goodell’s good move would be to squash the Pro Bowl
February 6, 2012
Roger Goodell frequently strikes out with NFL players and fans.
Often, the NFL’s commissioner is the subject of displeased Tweets or comments from players questioning his judgement, and boos from spectators in the stands.
But, it sounds like good ol’ Roger might be finally on to something: Eliminating the Pro Bowl.
After another pointless exhibition between the AFC and NFC, Goodell said the NFL is, “either going to have to improve the quality of what we’re doing” or even start “considering eliminating the game if that’s the kind of quality game we’re going to provide.”
The Pro Bowl, and all other All-Star games, are a joke. No longer do athletes have the desire to play with fellow players in their respective conference.
They don’t try hard. Typically, the NFL’s top players pass on the Pro Bowl, and I’m sure if any of them really wanted to go to Hawaii, they could go there. Playing football would be the last thing they’d want to do.
Roger, follow through with your word and flush the Pro Bowl.
