Wednesday

At 12:12 a.m., officers in parking lot P made contact with a vehicle with multiple occupants. The officers detected the odor of cannabis, which was later found in the vehicle. Two individuals were referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for possession of cannabis.

At 2:47 a.m., an officer was dispatched to Neptune East for a report of disorderly conduct. The officer met with a complainant, who identified the offender. The offender was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for disorderly conduct after an investigation.

At 3:06 p.m., Anthony A. Glenn, 28, of DeKalb, was arrested at 1307 W. Lincoln Highway on a warrant for sale/delivery of drug paraphernalia. Glenn posted bond and was released.

At 4:03 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the police department lobby to take a report regarding credit card fraud. This case is pending investigation.

At 11:25 p.m., officers were dispatched to Lincoln Hall’s fifth floor to meet with hall staff regarding an odor of cannabis coming from a room. Officers made contact with the occupants of the room, which resulted in the discovery of alcohol and cannabis. Nikko K. Tucker, 22, of Harvey, was arrested and charged with sale of liquor to a minor, possession of cannabis and delivery of cannabis. Tucker was released on an individual bond. The other individual was under 21 and intoxicated, and was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.

Friday

At 2:30 a.m., an officer responded to a report of graffiti on a bridge that crosses Kishwaukee River east of NIU parking lots three and 14. The officer took a report. This case is administratively closed.

At 4:20 p.m., officers were dispatched to the lobby of Lincoln Hall regarding the theft of a NIU One Card. This case is pending investigation.

At 9:54 p.m., officers conducting a building check of Lincoln Hall detected the odor of cannabis on the second floor. Officers made contact with the occupant of a room identified as the source of the odor, which resulted in cannabis being found in the room. The occupant was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for possession of cannabis.

At 10:05 p.m., officers conducting a building check of Neptune West detected the odor of cannabis coming from a room. The officers made contact with the occupants of the room, where drug paraphernalia was discovered. One individual was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Saturday

At 12:18 a.m., a subject at Stevenson North was found to be in possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia. The subject was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct.

At 12:53 a.m., a subject at Neptune East was found to be in possession of cannabis. The subject was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct.

At 4:25 a.m., the theft of several items was reported in several rooms in Douglas Hall. The offender, Prince K. Uche, 20, of South Holland was arrested on Feb. 4 and transported to the NIU Police Department. He was booked and released after posting bond.

At 4:51 p.m., several items were taken from a purse without the owner’s permission in the Barsema Hall atrium. This case is pending investigation.

At 10:58 p.m., a subject was found to be unlawfully in possession of alcohol. The subject was referred to the Office of community Standards and Student Conduct.

 

At 1 a.m., Carlos R. Gonzalez, 20, of Aurora, was found to be unlawfully in possession of cannabis. He was placed under arrest and later released on bond.

At 4:03 a.m., officers responded to a domestic battery. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim, who reported being battered by her boyfriend. Follow-up will be conducted with the State’s Attorney’s Office to seek a warrant for the offender.
