Patriots beat Giants… not really

Tom Brady and Bill Belichick have done it once again.
The New England Patriots defeated the New York Giants 38-10 for their fourth Lombardi Trophy in the last 11 years.
Brady earned the Super Bowl MVP, carving up New York’s secondary by completing 26 of 37 passes for 367 yards and 5 touchdowns.
“Giselle was threatening to leave me if I didn’t get this ring,” Brady said. “This win gives me at least three more years to be with her, and that’s really exciting for me.”
Belichick displayed his normal routine of not acting excited after a victory.
“There are still a lot of things we need to improve on,” Belichick said with his ugly sweater drenched in Gatorade. “Our defense gave up 10 points. It feels good to win, but we’re going to have to go back to the film room to prepare for our next game in six months.”
Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski put on a show, hauling in nine passes for 126 yards and two touchdowns. “Gronk” caught a 84-yard touchdown pass from Brady in the fourth quarter.
“This one’s for Bibi Jones,” Gronkowski said. “Ever since she wore my jersey on that miraculous night, I’ve been playing some hardcore football out there. That’s why I spike the ball so hard when I score. For Bibi.”
Eli Manning couldn’t get anything going through the air against a sub-par New England secondary. Manning completed just 14 of 29 passes for 137 yards and 2 interceptions.
Manning was still able to look at the positives after his terrible performance.
“We played really hard this year,” Manning said. “Unfortunately, we couldn’t hang with New England today. I still get a bonus from Samsung and Oreo just for playing tonight, so it’s not really a bad situation for me.”
The Giants were only able to muster up 234 yards of total offense compared to New England’s 395. The Giants’ beastly front four put no pressure on Brady, even though they were able to hold the Patriots to 28 yards on the ground. However, the Patriots only ran the ball nine times.
After the lopsided loss, Giants coach Tom Coughlin is headed back on the hot seat.
“I’m embarrassed tonight if you couldn’t tell by my face,” Coughlin said, with his face as red as a skin rash. “We got slaughtered today. But we’ll be back. We always come back somehow during times of adversity.”
