Campus blotter for 2/8/12

THURSDAY

At 4:20 p.m., officers were dispatched to the lobby of Lincoln Hall regarding the theft of a NIU One Card. This case is pending investigation.

SUNDAY

At 9:13 p.m., officers responded to Grant Towers South lobby for a report of damage to property. Upon arrival, they met with a complainant who stated that a person she knew damaged her laptop. This case is pending investigation.

MONDAY

At 8:43 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the NIU Police Department lobby for a report of theft. An individual stated he had set his bag down in a room at the school of nursing and it went missing. At 10:25 a.m. that same day, the individual contacted the police and informed them his bag had been picked up by building services and returned. This case is closed.

At 9:16 p.m., an officer was approached by an individual in Grant Towers South for a report of theft. The individual states that he set his cell phone on the paper towel dispenser in the bathroom and left. When he later returned, the cell phone was missing. This case is pending investigation.

At 10:12 p.m., officers were dispatched to assist housing with an odor of cannabis in Douglas hall on the fourth floor. Officers made contact with two individuals in a room identified as the source of the odor. Cannabis was discovered and two individuals were referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for possession of cannabis.
