Senior circuit court position to be filled by first female presiding judge of DeKalb county
November 2, 2011
Circuit Judge Robbin Stuckert will become the first female presiding judge of the DeKalb County judicial circuit following the retirement of current Presiding Judge Kurt Klein.
Klein said Stuckert is the senior circuit judge in DeKalb County and has worked with Klein on significant administrative issues.
“She is the natural person to succeed me as presiding judge,” Klein said.
Stuckert became the first female judge in DeKalb County after being appointed as an associate judge in 2001. She also became the first female circuit judge after being appointed in 2003, filling Judge Douglas Engel’s position.
Klein said while Stuckert is set to take over the position in December, Klein will retire after the annexation of the Sycamore Court House is complete in June or July 2012.
“Until that time, I will work with Stuckert and get her up to speed on the administration of the DeKalb County judicial circuit,” Klein said. “I am looking forward to retirement.”
