Campus blotter for 11/17/11

Nov. 1

  • At 7:01 p.m., an officer responded to the Huskie Den regarding a theft report. Upon arrival, he met with a person who said someone stole a PlayStation 3. Due to lack of leads, this case is administratively closed.

Monday

  • At 5:11 a.m., officers were flagged down by a person who wanted to report damage to a door in Still Gym. This case is pending investigation.
  • At 2:40 p.m., officers responded to the Douglas Hall Dining Office regarding a theft report. Upon arrival, they met with the student who said between Nov. 10 and Nov. 12, someone stole his portable fan from his desk. Due to no leads, this case is administratively closed.
  • At 10:31 p.m., an officer met with a student in the Lincoln Hall Community Safety Center regarding a theft. The student said someone stole his headphones from his room. This case is pending investigation.

Tuesday

  • At 12:03 a.m., an officer responded to the Stevenson Tower North Lobby for an incident report. Upon arrival, he met with a person who said someone in a passing vehicle shot her in the arm with a BB. This case is administratively closed pending further leads.
  • At 10:20 a.m., officers responded to the bicycle racks close to Anderson Hall for damage to a bicycle. Upon arrival, they met with a student who said someone damaged his bicycle between Nov. 11 and Nov. 15. This case is administratively closed pending further leads.
  • At 6:20 p.m., an officer patrolling the East Tailgate of the Huskie Stadium observed a woman holding a can of Keystone Light. The officer contacted her and discovered she was a minor. She was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct.
  • At 8:03 p.m., officers conducting a foot patrol of Stadium Drive South heard a loud crash. When they turned to look, they observed a car with smoke coming from the front end next to a smashed barrier. The officers contacted the driver and discovered he was uninjured and had a bag full of marijuana. Jordan M. Marsala, 21, of Schaumburg, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of cannabis. He was processed at the NIU Police Department and released after posting bond.
