NIU announced its top senior this week.

Nora Lindvall, senior English and political science major, was named the 2011 Student Lincoln Laureate, according to a Monday NIU Today article.

Lindvall speaks five languages and has travelled to 19 countries, according to the article. Over the summer, she interned for two months with Libor Roucek, vice president of the European Parliament.

The Lincoln Laureate award is given to the top senior from each state university and four-year college, both public and private. Recipients will receive awards at a Nov. 5 ceremony in Springfield.
