NIU released the 2011 Clery Act security report last week.

The report offers crime statistics for the 2010 calendar year.

According to the report, the NIU Police Department saw an increase in burglaries in 2010, with 19 cases. This is compared to 14 cases in 2009.

Drug abuse arrests also increased with 92 cases; 2009 reported 68 cases.

Arrests for liquor law violations decreased in 2010 with 57 cases. Seventy-eight cases were reported in 2009.
