Will Bears make you happy or let you down?

One game into the

NFL season and fans are already jumping for joy about the <a href=

Bears.

The Bears were

nearly perfect in three phases against the <a href=

Sunday afternoon.

Offensively, they

looked crisp.

Defensively, Matt

Ryan looked staler than a week-old Natty Ice.

And, as usual, the

special teams unit, was…well, special.

Through four

quarters of football, this Bears team has the look of being

special.

But I would be

foolish not to warn fans, or even myself, not to jump into

anything.

Look at this way:

the Bears are a girl you’ve just met, but you really like

her.

And, for the sake

of keeping pace with this analogy, I’ll refer to the Bears as her,

she or all other female references, capeesh?

You’ve only known

her for a week, but she’s giving you all the right

vibes.

She has those

qualities that you desire: reliable when you need her most (Lance

Briggs), easy on the eyes (Matt Forte’s diversity in the backfield)

and the ability to put a smile on your face (Brian Urlacher’s all

over the field presence).

Sounds like a

keeper, right?

But, you got to

keep your guard up.

Remember, Chicago

sports are heartbreakers.

And I don’t know

you, but I’ve had my heart broken by the Bears, and some team on

the North Side, whose existence I don’t recognize.

Football season

for many is like a cluster you-know-what relationship.

You make time

during the week for your favorite team, and then Sunday, she’ll

take you out on the town.

Or maybe she’ll

take a rain check, and you can take her out on a Monday

night.

But if things go

sour, you need that space.

Space being the

off-season, if that one went over your head.

Going back to last

season, Lady Luck was going steady with the Bears.

No significant

injuries occurred, and if there were players hurting, they usually

made their way back on the field.

Well, Jay Cutler

made it back, but he might of not known what continent he was

on.

The further we get

into the NFL season, the overall picture for the Bears’ season will

start to show its true face.

It might be what

you want, or it could just simply let you down.

But if she’s worth

fighting for, then I guess I won’t tell you how to feel as a

fan.
