The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or from DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.
Friday
- At 3:36 a.m., the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a possible drunk driver heading towards DeKalb city limits. Deputies located the vehicle at the intersection of Royal Street and First Street in DeKalb. The driver, Sara W. Mallow, 57, of Rockford, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol. Deputies found Mallow’s driver’s license was also suspended. Mallow was taken to DeKalb County Jail.
- At 4:20 a.m., a DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputy observed a vehicle on Glidden Road cross the center line. The deputy performed a traffic stop and found the driver, Lauren J. Stone, 21, of Genoa, was driving under the influence of alcohol. During a search of the vehicle, the deputy found drug paraphernalia and a small amount of cannabis. Stone was arrested and taken to DeKalb County Jail.
- At 6:00 a.m., DeKalb County Sheriff’s Police stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Dresser Road and Daniel Drive for failing to use a turn signal and improper lane usage. The driver, Nikolaos A. Tsiagalis, 20, of DeKalb, admitted to drinking alcohol and had vomited on himself. Tsiagalis was arrested and taken to DeKalb County Jail. He was later released on bond.
Saturday
- At 5:30 a.m., DeKalb County Sheriff’s Police observed a car parked in the roadway of Rich Road. The officer found both occupants of the vehicle had been drinking alcohol, and were under 21 years of age. The driver, Matthew Stillson, 20, of Streamwood, and the passenger, Stefanie A. Curtis, 18, of Bartlett, were arrested and taken to DeKalb County Jail.
Sunday
- At 2:15 a.m., DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle in the intersection of Bethany Road and Glidden Road in DeKalb for disobeying a stop sign. The driver, Mikul V. Patel, 22, of Schaumburg, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and the unlawful possession of cannabis. Patel was arrested and taken to DeKalb County Jail.
Monday
- At 2:10 a.m., DeKalb Police observed a bicycle on the roadway in the 1300 block of Normal Road without lighting equipment. The officer stopped the bicyclist, Pierre F. Black, 20, of DeKalb, and explained the violation. The officer found Black had a valid failure to appear warrant for retail theft. Black was arrested and taken to the DeKalb Police Station. He was later transported to DeKalb County Jail.
