Potential Curl witness required to testify

A DeKalb man charged with burglary is required to cooperate with any subpoenas to testify in the case against the alleged killer of NIU student Antinette “Toni” Keller.
According to court documents, Claude Day Jr., 32, was charged with the violation of an order of protection and burglary. Day is required to testify in the case against William Curl as a condition of a plea agreement reached on June 28.
Stephanie Klein, DeKalb Assistant State’s Attorney, said Day is a potential witness in the case against Curl, but declined to elaborate as to why.
Curl, 34, is charged with arson, criminal sexual assault and five counts of first-degree murder in connection with Keller’s death.
Court documents state Day was sentenced to 180 days in DeKalb County Jail, but received credit for 76 days already served. Day must also keep the DeKalb County State’s Attorney’s Office informed of his current address at all times.
