Shooting victim and NIU linebacker Butler upgraded to fair condition

NIU linebacker Devon Butler is in fair condition as of Wednesday afternoon at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.
Butler is recovering from a gunshot wound he suffered on April 5 while visiting a friend at 1009 Apsen Drive.
Butler wrote on his Facebook page Tuesday around 11:20 a.m. that he got up and walked around.
Mark Orozco and Richard Van Arsdale III were arrested in connection to the shooting later that night. Both are charged with one count of attempted first-degree murder and one count of aggravated battery with a firearm, both punishable by up to 30 years in prison.
