DeKALB | Little information is known after a man was witnessed falling through a glass window in the Grant South lobby Tuesday night.

Witnesses said they saw a black male fall through the window between 9:30 and 10:30 p.m. Police quickly arrived on scene and attended to the man along with three other people only minutes later.

As of press time police could not confirm if the person who fell through the glass was arrested or how he fell through the glass.

Josiah Payne said he saw the suspect fall through the window after “goofing around” with his friends before fleeing the scene.

Two more students also claimed to have viewed what had happened.

Allison Hernandez happened to be looking out her window when she saw the student plunge through the glass. Hernandez said she saw the suspect take a moment to react before getting to his feet. He then walked before breaking into a run. Nick Rascia confirmed this as he also saw it from his window. Rascia said the suspect was wearing a black hoodie. Rascia also said that an associate wearing a gray hoodie ran off along with the first suspect.

The suspects rounded up by the NIU police included one black female and three black males. An NIU officer said a subject in a black hoodie had suffered cuts on his arms.
