The Cincinnati Reds’ website states “This is red country.” The Reds should change that to “This is caught red-handed country.”

I am not rich by any stretch of the imagination, but I do have $59.88. If Mike Leake would have asked, I would have considered giving him the chump change to buy those six t-shirts he so desired to have.

But then I remembered he is going to make $425,000 this year, plus a $2.27 million signing bonus he already has from 2009, to pitch for the Cincinnati Reds.

On Monday afternoon, Leake was arrested and booked for allegedly stealing six t-shirts from Cincy’s downtown Macy’s store.

If convicted of the misdemeanor, Leake could spend up to 180 days in jail. For his own sake, Leake should be looking up contact information for Winona Ryder’s attorney. Or maybe not.
