Driver services come to campus

The Illinois Secretary of State’s office will be on-campus Monday.

Students can get certain driver and vehicle services in the lower level of the Holmes Student Center from 9:20 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Customers are able to renew, purchase their annual vehicle license plate sticker, register to be an organ and tissue donor or conduct other transactions with the office on campus.

NIU collegiate license plates will also be available for purchase for $25. The proceeds will go to NIU’s scholarship fund.

To switch to a random-numbered NIU license plate, the cost will be $69. For a vanity plate, which consist of all letters or the numbers 1 through 999, the cost is $163. A personalized license plate, which consist of a combination of letters and numbers, the cost is $116.

“NIU students, faculty and staff can show their pride in their university by displaying the NIU collegiate license plate on their vehicle,” said Secretary of State Jesse White in the release.

Acceptable forms of payment include personal checks, cash, MasterCard, American Express and Discover credit and debit cards. For more information contact, Henry Haupt 217-782-5984.
