Marke Freeman was named to the All-MAC Second Team on Tuesday, two days after the NIU women’s basketball team ended its season with a loss to Ohio in the MAC Tournament.

Freeman joins ex-WNBA players E.C. Hill and Stephanie Raymond as the only Huskies to average 14.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.0 steals a game over the course of a career. In 2010-11, the senior guard ranked in the MAC’s top-10 in six offensive categories.

The Springfield, Ill. native converted 42-of-43 free throws in the final minute of regulation and in overtime this past season.

After playing one year at Florida A&M, Freeman transferred to NIU for the 2008-09 season. In her first season as a Huskie, Freeman earned the MAC’s sixth player of the year award.
