After going 6-for-18 at the Texas Classic over the weekend, NIU softball center fielder Dani Parrish was named MAC West Player of the Week.

Parrish knocked in three runs and scored another two over the Huskies’ first five games of 2011.

The highlight of Parrish’s weekend came against Louisville when the junior went 3-for-4 and stole two bases in a 6-1 loss to the Louisville Cardinals.

The Huskies (0-5) return to Texas Feb. 25-27 for the Texas Tech Invitational.
