DeKALB | William P. Curl has been indicted for the murder of NIU student Antinette “Toni” Keller.

Bill Engerman, DeKalb County first assistant state’s attorney, said that Curl was indicted by a grand jury on five counts of first degree murder, one count of concealment of a homicidal death, one count of arson, and one count of criminal sexual assault.

“The indictment is an essential step in the process,” Engerman said.

Keller was reported missing on Oct. 15 after she told friends she was going for a walk in Prairie Park the previous day.

Burned human remains were found in the park on Oct. 16, but it was not until Jan. 6 when DNA testing confirmed that the remains were Keller’s.
