The DeKalb County Community Services Department and Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity are offering community service scholarships for 2011-2012.

According to a press release issued Monday, applications for the 2011-2012 Community Services Block Grant college scholarships are currently being accepted.

Prospective applicants must be a permanent DeKalb County resident and be a member of a family whose gross income for the past 90 days does not exceed 125 percent of the poverty level, the release said. The application deadline is June 30 at 4:30 p.m.
