Campus crime blotter for 2/2/11

Jan. 28

  • At 11:32 p.m., a student walking on the sidewalk near Spiros Court and Hillcrest Drive was carrying a can of beer and tried to conceal it when she saw an officer. She was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for illegal possession of alcohol by a minor.

Sunday

  • At 1:29 a.m., an officer observed a student entering Grant North lobby who was unable to maintain her balance. The student admitted to underage drinking and received a verbal warning for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor. She was entrusted to the care of her friend.
  • At 3:38 p.m., an officer investigated an obnoxious odor from a room at Grant South. After pinpointing the room, all the occupants admitted to smoking cannabis. The students were referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for possession of cannabis 30 grams and under and for possession of drug equipment. The non-students received a 24-hour banning.

Monday

• At 8:23 a.m., an officer was dispatched to Founders Memorial Library on a report of criminal damage to state supported property. Graffiti was observed and documented on the inside of an elevator door. This case is pending investigation.

• At 8:53 a.m., there was a reported theft at Neptune West. A black fleece liner that was used by a building worker was stolen. Pending any new leads, this case is administratively closed.

• At 3:47 p.m., a theft was reported that occurred at the Recreation Center. A driver’s license was stolen from a locker. This case is pending investigation.
