NIU football season tickets available after Saturday

Kickoff is more than six months away, but on Thursday afternoon, it got a little bit closer.

The NIU football team released 2011 season ticket prices and information regarding the Huskies’ Sept. 17 date with Wisconsin at Soldier Field.

Fans can purchase season tickets for the 2011 season starting Saturday. Priority will be given to fans purchasing season tickets before April 30.

The full-season ticket price is set at $99 for all six home games. NIU faculty, Varsity Club members, Alumni Association members, and senior citizens can purchase tickets to all six games for $88.

The Huskies will also be offering a three-game mini plan for $50. Fans purchasing the plan can choose any three home games on the NIU schedule.

Also beginning on Saturday, full-season ticket holders and Huskie Athletic Support Fund members will be allowed to purchase tickets to the NIU-Wisconsin game at Soldier Field. Full-season ticket holders can purchase tickets for $45 for the upper levels, $60 for the lower level, and $75 for club seats.

The general public can purchase tickets starting on May 9. Prices will be set at $60 (upper level), $75 (lower level), and $90 (club seats). NIU students will be able to purchase tickets in the student section for $25.

“We know there are going to be a lot of questions and we are more than happy to answer them all,” said NIU Associate Athletic Director Shelley Binegar in a press release. “We encourage fans to go to our website at both NIUHuskies.com and at huskiefootball2011.com, read the frequently asked questions and look at the price listings and stadium diagrams.”
