Tania Doko of Robert Speed Productions, brings full-song version (of Disney track) & talent to global agency

CHICAGO, IL – the global release of Tania Doko’s new solo EP, “It’s Time”, and a track included in Disney’s movie STEP UP 3D and the much-anticipated full-song-version of such said track.

As one half of Bachelor Girl, TANIA DOKO enjoyed much success through the decade long journey with James Roche. It was 1998 when Bachelor Girl’s debut single Buses & Trains leapt onto the Australian music charts and since that time became one of the country’s leading live and recording acts.

The song-writing chemistry between Tania and James was explosive and their double platinum selling debut, Waiting For The Day won them the 1998 ARIA for Best Producer and put them on the unstoppable trajectory towards their second album, Dysfunctional (2002) which features hits including ‘I’m Just a Girl’ & ‘Drowning Not Waving’.

In 1999, with 4 ARIA Award nominations and the APRA Award for Song of The Year & PPCA most played song on Australian radio (Buses & Trains), Bachelor Girl rode high on the airwaves and the charts as their debut release spawned five smash hit singles including ‘Buses and Trains’, ‘Treat Me Good’ and the anthemic Australian classic ‘Permission To Shine’. Following this amazing success in Australia & abroad, Tania was invited to perform a lead role in SEL’s ‘Tim Rice Musical Spectacular’ (2001) as well as a judge/mentor role on Channel 7’s ‘Popstars’ (2004).

When not performing or recording, Tania mixes her musical expertise with her University qualifications (Bachelor of Arts majoring in Criminology and Psychology). As part of Whitelion – an organization that works with young people in the juvenile justice system, in state care, and kids at risk in the community, Tania facilitates music workshops for clients at Parkville Detention Centre and is a lead mentor for young people in child protection (a joint venture with Reach called RAMP). Using the vehicle of her very own music, Tania also performs, speaks and inspires school students nationwide as well as engaging corporate/charity groups through performance and interactive workshops (accompanied by friend and well respected artist in his own right, Jack Jones aka Irwin Thomas). Tania created and organizes the annual JOY IN THE PARK, at Luna Park, Melbourne – a Whitelion free concert showcasing some of Australia’s biggest names on the music scene, open to the general public and providing the young people of Whitelion a once in a lifetime experience.

Tania’s passion and work with young people, along with her success in the music industry gives her a wealth of experience to draw on. Her singing/acting role in ‘SERIOUSLY’, the Pet Shop Boys Reinterpreted’ took her to the Edinburgh Fringe festival in 2007, enjoying rave reviews and endorsement from the Pet Shop Boys themselves. Tania has also completed writing and recording a new album with her new electro rock band SHE SAID YES (SSY). Securing the support for the Darren Hayes national tour October 2007, SHE SAID YES released their critically acclaimed debut independent EP to coincide with the tour. SSY have made their mark on the Australian dance scene, including supporting hot dance act the Potbelleez and playing at Sydney’s infamous Mardi Gras.

In 2008, Tania also completed an acoustic EP, ‘To Whom It May Concern’, consisting of past hit Bachelor Girl releases and current SSY tunes unplugged. The acoustic installment was released to coincide with 2008’s highly successful national tour “Let’s Get Together” including Tania herself, Jon Stevens, Ian Moss and Jack Jones aka Irwin Thomas.

Other releases for Tania include ‘Curious Thing’ by DJ Pitch Dark (Featuring Tania Doko) out on dance label Vinyl Pusher in May 2009. Tania’s powerful vocals can also be heard on The Veronicas single, ‘Don’t Say Goodbye’ (Featuring Tania Doko) from theEP ‘This Love’.

2010 has found Tania completing her new solo EP, ‘It’s Time’, and a track included in Disney’s Movie, STEP UP 3D, which was released worldwide. This past month the DVD version of the movie STEP UP 3D was released to video outlets, such as Blockbuster. Now in 2011, ‘Joyride’ (The music featured in the movie’s boom box room scene) will be released as ‘Tania Doko’s JOYRIDE the King Cutter remix featuring rapper Twin Atoms’.
