New superintendent at Sycamore Park District plans on expanding programs
January 23, 2011
SYCAMORE | Bart Desch was recently named the new superintendent of recreation at the Sycamore Park District.
Desch previously served as the program supervisor, but took on a new leadership role and has plans to bring change to the Sycamore area.
“I plan on bringing new programs as well as expanding pre-existing ones, such as the youth athletic programs,” Desch said.
With over 20 years of experience in the field, he knows that advertisement is a major component in the expansion of the park district. Desch plans on making major changes to their brochures as well as becoming more active in social media.
“I plan on jumping into the computers and getting active on some of those social networking sites like Facebook and others to help market our programs,” Desch said.
Desch is not the only one confident in his new approach toward expansion.
“Bart did not start long after I did, and since, he has come up with a lot of new programs that I’m happy about,” said David Peek, executive director of the Sycamore Park District.
Peek said he is looking forward to what is to come with Desch as the new superintendent of recreation.
“I know what Bart can produce and look forward to seeing some of his new ideas implemented,” Peek said.
