The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or from the DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.
- At 3:38 a.m. Thursday, DeKalb Police received a complaint of a man urinating in a parking lot in the 800 Block of South Fourth Street. After police arrived, it was learned through a check that the man’s vehicle registration and driver’s license were both suspended. Tracey W. Wankasky, 50, of DeKalb, was arrested for suspended registration, driving with a suspended license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Wankasky was arrested and transported to the DeKalb Police Department. Wankasky was released after receiving an I-Bond.
- At 1:21 a.m. Friday, DeKalb Police observed a vehicle in the 900 block of Pappas Drive with no lights on. After the vehicle was stopped, the person was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. Eric D. Dammann, 21, of DeKalb, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, no lights on when required and violating driver’s license restriction. Dammann was transported to the DeKalb Police Department and later released after posting bond.
- At 3:47 a.m. Friday, DeKalb Police ran a check on a vehicle’s registration in the 2400 block of Annie Glidden Road. Police learned the vehicle was reported stolen Nov. 5 in Chicago. The driver got out of the vehicle and ran on foot. Police caught the person, who was drunk, after a brief pursuit and were provided with a false name. Marshall J. Howard, 19, of Chicago, was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a suspended license, fleeing to elude and obstructing identification. Howard transported to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.
- At 2:42 p.m. Saturday, DeKalb Police ran a check on a vehicle in the 300 block of Industrial Drive with the driver’s name coming up wanted for a warrant. Ira W. Lolley, 24, of DeKalb, was arrested for failure to appear warrant and transported to the DeKalb Police Department. Lolley was later transported to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.
