Champagne, Chocolate and Firelight event to help celebrate the holidays
November 15, 2010
Blumen Gardens, 403 Edward St. in Sycamore, will offer a holiday celebration themed shopping experience Thursday that’s aimed to delight.
From 5 to 7 p.m., Blumen Gardens will host its second Champagne, Chocolate and Firelight event.
Anna Betauw, advertising manager of Blumen Gardens, said the event will include everything the name suggests.
“There’s going to be champagne, and we have a chocolate fountain and we’ll have little campfires outside since part of our grounds are outside,” Betauw said. “Last year we did this and people gathered around the little campfires and we had marshmallows for them to roast.”
Betauw said there will also be a live duet, a singer and a guitarist, to add to the ambience of the evening. Additionally, they will offer a 10 percent discount during the event.
“We’ll be opening up our white shop for the holidays all decorated and full of gifts and ornaments,” Betauw said. “We’ll also have fresh cut greens, fall Christmas trees, boughs and wreaths for sale.”
Discover Sycamore Director Lauren Diehl said this event is one of many being hosted by Discover Sycamore member businesses this season.
“We definitely plan on attending,” Diehl said. “Many Discover Sycamore member businesses are hosting a variety of holiday events this season so we try to take the time to check out as many as possible.”
Betauw said this is not the first holiday event they have hosted at Blumen Gardens.
“We’ve had ladies night out in the past and Evening in the Garden,” Betauw said.”Everyone has a nice time. It’s a good time to get out with a friend.”
