Sept. 24
At 12:11 a.m., a pedestrian stop was conducted on an individual who was carrying an open container of alcohol. The subject pushed an officer and fled from the scene. Due to lack of evidence, this case is administratively closed.
Oct. 3
At 5:31 p.m., an officer took a report of criminal damage to state supported property. A window at the eastern end of Barsema Hall was broken between Oct. 1 and Oct. 3. Due to lack of evidence, this case is administratively closed.
Oct. 20
At 6:43 p.m., a person reported someone had taken his bag containing a wallet and miscellaneous items that he had left at the Holmes Student Center cafeteria. The bag was later found with all items accounted for. This case is closed as unfounded.
Oct. 24
At 7:32 p.m., a female resident and her roommate invited three new acquaintances to their room. After they left, one of the roommates noticed that her iPod was missing. Due to lack of leads or further information, this case is administratively closed.
Nov. 4
At 2:01 a.m., a report was taken regarding credit card fraud. This case is cleared for refusal to cooperate.
At 1:08 p.m., a report was taken regarding burglary from a motor vehicle. With no further information, this case is administratively closed.
At 4:29 p.m., a report was taken regarding graffiti on one of the exterior doors at the Campus Recreation Center. With no further information, this case is administratively closed.
At 9:33 p.m., a report was received regarding an individual who was allegedly shot at with a pellet gun. Michael Richardson, 18, of Chicago was arrested and charged with reckless conduct.
At 10:10 p.m., officers doing a check of Douglas Hall were alerted to the odor of cannabis from a particular room. After allowed voluntary entry to the room, an officer questioned Brendon Rahman, 18, of Chicago who admitted to smoking marijuana and also revealed some cannabis. Rahman was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of cannabis 30 GM and under.
Nov. 5
At 2:26 a.m., a subject was found to unlawfully be in possession of alcohol. The subject was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct.
At 3:43 a.m., officers were dispatched to a reported domestic situation at the Northern View Apartments. Once on scene, all involved individuals were identified and interviewed. Shanea Majors, 19, of DeKalb was placed under arrest and charged with domestic battery. Majors was transported to the NIU Police Department, where she was booked. Majors was later transported to the DeKalb County Jail.
At 6:30 p.m., damage was reported to several lockers in Huskie Stadium. This case is open pending further investigation.
At 8:25 p.m., officers found individuals jumping on the hoods of vehicles parked in Lot O. After identifying and interviewing all individuals involved, Eli Anderson, 18, of Glenview, Ill. was placed under arrest for criminal damage to property and unlawful consumption of alcohol. Connor Schomig, 19, of Darien, Ill.; Jeffrey Zimmerman, 18, of Tinley Park, Ill.; and Kevin Sweeney, 18, of Chicago were placed under arrest for unlawful consumption of alcohol. All individuals were transported to the NIU Police Department, where they were booked and released after posting bond.
Nov. 7
At 12:46 a.m., three males entered Neptune West lobby supporting another individual between them. Officers did a check of well being on the one individual who was unable to stand. They determined he was severely intoxicated and provided assistance. The individual also received a referral to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.
At 7:20 p.m., a theft of a wallet was reported that occurred at Neptune East. This case is pending investigation.
At 8:04 p.m., a resident of Lincoln Hall left his iPod in his room for the weekend. When he returned, the iPod was gone. This case is pending investigation.
At 10:20 p.m., two subjects at Neptune East were fighting and yelling at each other. Officers intervened and stopped the fight. Kierra Freeman, 19, and Michael Ivory, 19, of Blue Island, Ill. were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
