Friday
- At about 1:05 a.m., an officer was dispatched to Stevenson North C Tower room for a battery. Upon further investigation, it was apparent that Khiry Smith, 19, of Chicago, was angry about a recent break up and had been restrained from lunging at the victim with a butter knife. The victim was alarmed and disturbed by her former boyfriend’s attempts to hurt her. In addition, Smith was under the influence of alcohol and under the legal age of consumption. Smith was arrested for aggravated assault, disorderly conduct and unlawful consumption of alcohol. This case is closed by adult arrest.
- At about 1:50 a.m., an officer on patrol of Douglas Hall observed a female yelling and swaying as she walked up to her room. Upon further investigation, the offender admitted to being under the influence of alcohol and being under the lawful age to consume alcoholic beverages. This case is closed via referral to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct.
- At about 2:47 a.m., an officer took a report of residential burglary. The complainant reported that a laptop and cell phone were taken from their room without their permission. Case is open and pending investigation.
- At about 3:37 a.m., an officer on patrol of Douglas Hall observed an individual who was swaying and causing a disturbance on his floor. Upon further investigation, Brandon Ecton, 18, of Oswego, admitted to consuming alcohol and being under the legal age to consume alcoholic beverages. Ecton was arrested for unlawful consumption of alcohol. This case is closed by adult arrest.
