City council approves agreement with Auto Meter Products
November 16, 2010
SYCAMORE | On Monday night, the Sycamore City Council voted to approve a development agreement between the city and Auto Meter Products.
According to the meeting agenda, this agreement centers around the donation of the former Chicago & Northwestern Depot, 475 DeKalb Ave., to the city. The city will facilitate urgent repairs to the historical structure to stabilize it until future uses come about. Some of the repairs will be funded by Sycamore’s TIF fund, but the bulk of the work will be funded by a contribution of $300,000 from the Douglas C. and Lynn M. Roberts Family Foundation.
“The council voted 7-0 to support the acquisition,” said Sycamore City Manager Bill Nicklas. “All [council] members gave thanks to Doug and Lynn Roberts, whose family foundation gift of $300,000 made this possible.”
