Northern Star sports writer Mike Buda has the games and the reasons why you should watch every day this week.
Today: Minnesota Vikings at New York Jets – 7:30 p.m.
Why?: Brett Favre returns to the scene of his alleged misconduct… And also he plays his former team.
Tuesday: Texas Rangers at Tampa Bay Rays – 7:07 p.m.
Why?: The deciding game of an ALDS where the home teams refuse to win.
Wednesday: Nashville Predators at Chicago Blackhawks – 7:30 p.m.
Why?: Rematch of a great 2010 Western Conference quarterfinals series.
Thursday: Palmeiras at Universitario de Sucre – 7:15 p.m.
Why?: The only professional soccer game in the world on Thursday… kind of a big deal.
Friday: Akron at NIU volleyball – 7 p.m.
Why?: The two top teams of the East and West divisions of the MAC in a possible preview of the MAC championship.
Saturday: No. 1 Ohio State at No. 18 Wisconsin – 6 p.m.
Why?: Big Ten champion implications and the Buckeyes try to not be the second straight No. 1 to fall.
Sunday: Baltimore Ravens at New England Patriots – Noon
Why?: Two powerhouses in the AFC fight at the top of the standings.
