Campus blotter for Oct. 18

At about 11:42 p.m., an officer on an exterior check of Grant Towers South noticed a green light on his person and located a subject playing with a pen-like object that projected the light, consistent with a laser pointer. The subject was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for pointing a laser pointer at a police officer.

THURSDAY

At about 2:14 a.m., an officer was dispatched to assist another officer who had detained three individuals at Lincoln Hall in reference to cannabis. A smoke-like device and a plant-like substance determined to be cannabis were revealed from one person. A consent search of all three revealed no further contraband. One individual received a verbal warning for unlawful possession of cannabis and drug equipment.

At about 2:47 a.m., officers on a traffic stop observed an individual staggering from left to right walking westbound on Hillcrest Drive. After determining the individual was intoxicated, Estefan A. Diaz, 20, of South Beloit, was arrested and charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.

At about 4:09 p.m., there was a report of a stolen wallet from Douglas Hall cafeteria. A card in the wallet was fraudulently used. This case is currently pending investigation.

At about 7:06 p.m., an officer responded to Neptune West in reference to a report of burnt cannabis. After allowed voluntary entry and doing a consent search of the room, the officer located two pipe-like smoking devices. The offender, Brandon J. Kuesis, 22, of Johnsburg, was then arrested for possession of drug equipment.

At about 10:18 p.m., an officer responded to a call in reference to the odor of burnt cannabis at Douglas Hall. After pinpointing the room, the officer questioned the occupant. Several bags of cannabis were revealed and the occupant admitted to preparing the marijuana for sale. Robert A. Shockley, 19, of Crystal Lake, was arrested and charged with delivery of cannabis 30 grams and under, possession of cannabis 30 grams and under and possession of drug equipment.

At about 11:13 p.m., an officer on routine patrol at Stevenson South saw a female walking in the lobby carrying a case of beer. After confirming her to be underage, the officer gave her a verbal warning for illegal possession of alcohol by a minor.
