Campus blotter for 10/19/10

OCT. 3

  • At about 2:23 a.m., a complainant at Grant Towers South stated that he had a sum of currency taken from his wallet without his permission. A thorough investigation revealed that a theft did not occur. This case is closed as unfounded.

WEDNESDAY

  • At about 8:42 p.m., a person at Grant Towers North reported that someone was stalking her. After a thorough investigation, Brandon D. Richards, 22, of Glen Ellyn, was arrested on a warrant for stalking. He was transported to the DeKalb County Correctional Facility. This case is closed via an adult arrest.

FRIDAY

  • At about 1:50 a.m., officers on patrol of Parking Lot J observed an individual walking through Lot J pulling on a parked vehicle’s door handles. At one point, officers observed him enter a vehicle and rummage through things. Contact with the person revealed the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his person. It also revealed that the vehicle that he entered was not his vehicle nor anyone he knew. Raul Romero, 18, of Plainfield, was arrested for burglary to motor vehicle, criminal trespass to motor vehicle and unlawful consumption of alcoholic liquor. He was transported to the DeKalb County Correctional Facility.
  • At 1:04 p.m., an officer responded to the Douglas Hall Service Drive to assist a motorist who locked his keys in his vehicle. After opening the vehicle, the officer smelled the odor of cannabis emanating from the vehicle. The requestor admitted to having cannabis in the vehicle. He gave the officer a bag of cannabis and a pipe. The requestor was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for possession of cannabis 30 grams and under and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • At about 4:30 p.m., an officer took a report regarding an unlawful restraint. This case is pending investigation.
  • At about 10:49 p.m., an officer on patrol observed two females run behind a tree and urinate. Contact with the two revealed the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from them. They admitted to being under the age of 21 and to consuming alcohol. They voluntarily emptied the remaining alcohol that was in their possession. They were given a verbal warning for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.
