Platform: Campbell’s main focus is lowering taxes in DeKalb County, and he considers himself a fiscal conservative. Campbell wants to form a task force with local law enforcement agencies to combat gang and gun violence in DeKalb.
History: Campbell served in the United States Army until 1990. He received a bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University and law degree from NIU, and has practiced law in DeKalb County for nearly 20 years.

Platform: Chami believes that gang violence is increasing in DeKalb County, and plans to combat it by attempting to reach out to kids before gangs can. She also wants to facilitate a Juvenile Diversion Program, which would rehabilitate jailed offenders and return them to society. Chami believes the program would combat overcrowding in jails, lower caseloads in courtrooms, and give relief to taxpayers.
History: Chami received her law degree from the Chicago-Kent College of Law. She has been a career prosecutor and was an Assistant State’s Attorney in Cook County.
